|Hello Everyone and Welcome to our New Subscribers,|
It has been a busy month. We went down to my hometown, Hoopers Island, on the Eastern Shore for a good relaxing vacation. I wanted to relax and recharge and Hans is always inspired to paint the beautiful marshes down there. While battling the local airforce of mosquitos Hans was able to paint 8 quick sketches ranging from 9x12" to 3x5".
Sunrise on Hooper's, 8"x10" Dean Tyler Country Store, 12"x9" Blackwater Refuge, 9"x12"
Choptank View, 9"x8" Marsh Sunrise, 3"x5" Marsh Morning, 5"x3"
Before the Sun, 3"x5" Mosquito Haven 5"x7"
Hans started a very unique painting of watermelon, using the abstract pattern of the outer shell as the background.
Rind, oil on Panel, 12"x9"
I've been working on a couple of dog commissions over the past few months, here is one that was just completed and approved.
When working on a pet commission, I like to take my own photos if possible, I then go back to the studio and work up a sketch for the owner to approve, followed by the actual painting.
Here is Spencer a very cute terrier mix.....
Pencil Sketch, 7"x7"
Finished oil painting, 7"x7"
